A smart way
to arrange the words
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a yearly
college entrance exam for high school students in the United
States. To get a higher score, having a sufficient English vocabulary
is a MUST.
SAT words are carefully selected to test student's English
proficiency of reading and writing in their daily lives as
well as in school, which, in terms of Word Frequency
of Occurrence (WFO), lies in a certain WFO range.
Through an extensive search, we have identified a WFO range
for the SAT's. This is the key point setting us apart from all of
the other SAT TEST PREPARATION platforms, whose SAT words
are all based on words that occurred in the earlier SAT's.
Indeed, our SAT database includes all of the earlier tested
words. However, it also contains the words with high WFO for
SAT, but have not occurred in earlier SAT exams yet.
We have arranged each word by its WFO index in addition to
the conventional ways (alphabetical, grade level, etc.). This
will give students a choice of studying the words according
to their time schedules. For instance, if a student is in a
rush to take SAT's, he/she may just study the first 3000 hottest
words.
To help students quickly remember these words and mimic the
real SAT test, we have added synonyms, antonyms, examples
as well as the pronunciation to each word in addition to the
explanation (in both English and other foreign languages).
For an average student, he/she can finish the entire word
list (>5,000 words) in less than 80 (accumulated) hours.
